Darryl Bird is a fluent Cree speaking Aboriginal man from Southend Saskatchewan Treaty 6 Territory, which is located approximately 598 kilometers north of Saskatoon. A Residential School Survivor, he spent three years (1990 to 1993) attending a residential school in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. He moved to Saskatoon in 2006 to pursue his education in Business and graduated in 2009 from the Business Management Studies at S.I.I.T. Following graduation, he started his career with Cameco as a payroll and flight coordinator–a position he held for eight years, and later worked with SIGA as its finance assistant. Since 2019, Darryl has been working for STC Industrial Contracting as its account tech and payroll. His future plan is to continue to survive, to be open to whatever opportunities the future may hold, and to make the most of the present day.
