Marc Kuly

Assistant Professor, Faculty of Education, University of Winnipeg

Marc Kuly is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Winnipeg, where he coordinates the Service Learning program. Marc worked for fifteen years in Winnipeg public schools as a teacher, consultant, and mentor. His use of storytelling to build cross-cultural understanding earned him the 2008 Manitoba Foundation for the Arts Roberta Christianson Award and the YM/YWCA Youth Peacemaker Award–a distinction he shared with his students. Marc has offered keynotes and workshops for schools across Canada and his research has been included in books and conferences across North America. Currently a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Manitoba’s Mauro Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies, Marc is researching the stories inner-city youth tell about their time in school.
